Ryan brings more than 20 years of hands-on joinery experience to every project. He started in the trade early and has worked across residential and light commercial properties throughout Canterbury — from post-earthquake repair work in the eastern suburbs to villa window restorations in the inner city and new-build joinery across Selwyn and Waimakariri.

Canterbury has specific demands when it comes to windows and glazing. The region’s cold winters, wide daily temperature swings, and significant nor’west wind exposure place real demands on window systems. Homes built before the early 2000s typically have single-glazed aluminium windows that transfer cold directly into living spaces and generate persistent condensation on glass and frames. Knowing how to get a lasting result in these conditions takes years of work on real Canterbury homes.

GlacierLite focuses on three core services for residential and light commercial clients:

• Retrofit double glazing — upgrading the glass within existing aluminium or timber frames, significantly improving thermal performance without replacing the entire window system. Cost-effective where frames are structurally sound.
• Window and door replacement — full replacement of window joinery where frames are deteriorated, water-damaged, or where maximum performance is the goal. We work with standard aluminium, thermally broken aluminium, and uPVC systems.
• Glazing services — repair and replacement of broken glass, failed double-glazing sealed units, and glass supply and installation for residential and commercial properties.

Our work covers Christchurch city and the surrounding districts — Selwyn District (Rolleston, Lincoln, Prebbleton, Ladbrooks) and Waimakariri District (Rangiora, Kaiapoi, Woodend, Pegasus). We understand local property types and conditions across the region.

If frames need replacing, we’ll explain why and walk you through your options. We don’t push unnecessary work, and we don’t recommend solutions that won’t deliver the result you’re after.

All double glazing units we supply carry manufacturer warranties on the sealed unit. Our installation work is backed by our own workmanship guarantee — if something isn’t right after we’ve finished, we’ll come back and sort it.
